NEWS – FORMULA 1 – Sauber C36-Ferrari REVEALED

Sauber presented their new car and it looks ASTONISHING!

Sauber celebrated their 25th year in Formula 1 with their last creation: the C36.srahv3d

When I first saw it, I thought it was amazing. I mean, look at it! The livery is stunning thanks to the Rothmans Racing inspired colour scheme. The engine (Ferrari engine!) is covered with a majetic shark fin which, with the rear spoiler, gives to the car an aggressive look.

If it’s as fast as it is beautiful it could fight for a very good position this year.

They launched the C36 on sauberf1team.com and in a couple of hours it crashed due to the huge amount of visits.  On their project they say:

[…] work on the concept of the new car was focused on reducing the drag coefficient (due to the wider tyres) to a minimum as well as achieving a significant weight reduction (despite the minimum weight having been raised to 728 kg), for instance by means of the new roll structure. In certain areas of lightweight design the team went to the limits. The aero concept includes the optimisation of the front and rear wings and the underfloor. The radiator, the sidepods and the bodywork were designed to be as slim as possible.

In short, the web went mad for a car that is already an instant classic. Now we just have to wait for Ericsson and Wehrlein to drive it and, who knows, to take it to the podium.

NEWS – FORMULA 1 – First Car Of 2017!

Today Williams Martini racing team revealed their 2017 F1 car and we can finally see how Formula 1 will look like this year.

The car is named FW40 after the 40th anniversary of the Team. Thanks to Williams, all F1 fans can now imagine how this year championship will be with the new rules.

This video (released in exclusive on autosport.com youtube channel) shows that the FW40 has nearly the same nose of last year’s car (they introduced that form in 2014).

It also has a lot of differences with their last car. In fact, the front wing now has a more curved and aerodynamic shape and the rear wing looks very similar with the one Ferrari used on their tests with the new Pirelli 2017 tires.

The 2017 Williams has a little shark fin (reminds me of the 2010 F1 championship)

All we have to do is wait for the next week to see how the other teams designed their cars.

They called it 812 Superfast, which is a very unusual name for a Maranello’s product. In fact, over the years they have accustomed us with italian exotic names like Speciale, Berlinetta etc…
This majestic animal will replace the F12 Berlinetta and this is a great responsibility.

GOLF 2017 – The German Icon Changes Again

As you probably know, in November VW unveiled the last form of their timeless classic. I am talking, of course, about the new Golf. To be honest, this isn’t a brand new car. In fact, what Volkswagen gave us is a restyling of their iconic car.

Despite this premise, I was very curious and when they showed us the “new” german hatchback, I understood why all the journalists desperately wanted to have a test drive on that car.

The presentation streamed from my smartphone.

Volkswagen gave them a chance to drive it last week in a stunning location: Palma de Mallorca. Five days ago, a bunch of journalist tested this german-product on its various declinations (mostly Gti versions). The most innovative car of 2017 seems to be here and has many strings to its bow. First of all, what we see from the external perspective is a slightly visible change. It has new full led headlights, new wheels, new colors (as you can see in the first picture), new bumpers but nothing really different from the previous version.

Andrea Galeazzi (@andreagaleazzi) is an italian test driver for automoto.it

The inside looks very different instead. They added a super-fast infotainment called Discover Pro (2000€) which, in my opinion, is the best new feature in this restyling. It shows how all of the new cars will look in a couple of years. The 2017 Golf has a full-digital instrumentation (similar to Audi’s Virtual Cockpit) which is extremely customizable and it totally supports (obviously) Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the dashbord we can find an amazing 9,2 inches full touch display that has a stunning resolution.

It also has new engines:

Petrol

– 1.0 TSI 85/110 bhp (the new entry level)

– 1.4 TSI 125 bhp

– 1.5 TSI 150 bhp

Diesel

– 1.6 TDI 90/115 bhp

– 2.0 TDI 150/184 bhp

CNG

– 1.4 TGI 110 bhp (the cheapest in terms of fuel consumption)

I really hate fake tailpipes

In conclusion, I think that with this car VW has raised the level of quality of cars multimedia and I hope other car companies will accept the challenge from the germans.

What version would I buy? I would choose the TGI version because I love petrol engines and this is a good compromise beetween performances and fuel consumption (which in my Country is kind of a problem). I would definitely add the Discover Pro pack despite his price.
